Maureen Frogley 

MA-CCC-SLP, Reg, CASLPO

Speech-Language Pathologist

Connection and communication have been at the root of Maureen’s passion as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 20 years. Her therapy is guided by evidence-based practices using child-focused activities that are tons of fun. It brings her great joy to partner with families as they uncover the sparkle of connection and communication.

 

Before graduating with a Master’s Degree in Speech-language Pathology in 2001, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois. For 12 years, she specialized in Early Intervention working with children aged 0-3 and pre-school-aged children in Illinois. After moving to Canada in 2013, she continued working with families and children of all ages as a private SLP. 


Maureen’s therapy supports children with their verbal and non-verbal language, interaction and play skills, articulation, social skills, and literacy. She has years of experience working with children on Autism Spectrum Disorders, Motor Speech Disorders, Phonological Delays and Language disorders, as well as Down Syndrome and other developmental and genetic disorders. 


Maureen is dedicated to empowering and supporting parents to maximize their children’s potential, to advocate for their child’s needs and to enjoy the celebrations and challenges that come with parenting children with communication challenges.

Neilab Almasak

B.A., CDA, Member of CDAAC 

Communication Disorders Assistant

Neilab is a graduate from Durham College’s Communicative Disorders Assistant program. Prior to this, she completed her B.A in Psychology at Trent University.

Neilab has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, articulation disorders, apraxia, dysfluency disorders, phonological disorders, and various areas of language delay. Neilab has gained this experience through her placement at the Durham District School Board and working as a facilitator at Nova’s Ark Charity. Neilab has participated in and continues to attend numerous workshops to expand her knowledge, including Speech Therapy from a Motor Speech Perspective, as well as a workshop on Behaviour Analysis for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.


Neilab values building rapport with the individuals she works with and being able to make learning both fun and functional. She aids the individuals she works with, to achieve their goals and increase their confidence. Neilab speaks English and Dari.


Tiffani Ballantyne

Communication Disorders Assistant

Tiffani obtained her post graduate certificate in the Communicative Disorders Assistant program from Durham College with honors along with an Early Childhood Education diploma with honors. Tiffani has experience working with toddlers, preschool and school age children with various neurological disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. Throughout her CDA placement with Frogley Speech Therapy, she had the opportunity to work with clients and provide therapy in the areas of receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonological disorders, Apraxia, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and literacy for a private practice clinic. Additionally, she has experience working with various high and low tech AAC devices including Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), Core Boards, Go Talk Now, Proloquo2Go and LAMP Words for Life.

 

Tiffani holds certificates in First Aid and CPR (Level C), Kids Have Stress Too, Preschool and Kindergarten, The Power of Language and TALK With ME (Rollins Centre for Language and Literacy), Digging Deeper (Speech and Stuttering Institute) and Lamp Words For Life Certificate.

 

Tiffani is an enthusiastic, compassionate and caring CDA who is dedicated to helping clients reach their full potential by incorporating their interests and hobbies along with play-based therapy to make it fun and meaningful. She feels strongly about building a strong rapport with her clients and their families.
